Geoffrey is an Alberta based playwright, performer, director, and musician.
In 2010 he helped found the Major Matt Mason Collective, a performance company dedicated to creating visceral, intimate, experimental, small-scale theatre about and for Alberta’s younger generations. He is Co-Artistic Director of the collective and has worked on all of their productions as both an artist and producer, including directing their production of Premium Content by David Gagnon Walker and scripting their devised production of Little Red (with Ghost River Theatre). He has also served as the director of collective’s Wildfire National Playwriting Competition since 2015.
His plays include Progress, Michael Mysterious, Night, Time, Still Still Still, Control, Air, Destroy, The Circle (which was published by Scirocco Drama in 2017), and the most recent adaptation(s) of A Christmas Carol for Theatre Calgary. Geoffrey was the creator-in-residence at Theatre Junction GRAND from 2016-2018, leading their mentorship program and creating the play If I Could Tell You Everything with an ensemble of Calgary teenagers. He is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s playwriting program.
As an actor he has worked on many of the major stages in Alberta as well as some living rooms and basements. Highlights include: The Circle (Alberta Theatre Projects), The Tall Building (Handsome Alice), A Dinner Party (Bad Knaps), Subscribe or Like (Workshop West), The Mousetrap (Vertigo Theatre), Even Gilchrist’s Re:Construct (RISER Edmonton, High Performance Rodeo), & The Cows by Elaine Weryshko.
As a musician he was the lyricist and singer of the heavy blues bar band Black Rabbit (later named Black Opus), for five years before the group disbanded in 2014. Now he writes and plays music under the name Lichard Worm.
Geoffrey is an amateur photographer, jewelery maker, and gardener.
